Carlson joins IxReveal from IBM, where most recently he served as vice president and general manager of IBM WebFountain™, a market leading solution leveraging text analytics technology invented in IBM Research. His career encompasses more than 20 years of management and information technology experience and he has built a reputation for creating strong partnerships, developing productive, talented teams and creating innovative business solutions that provide competitive advantages for his customers.During his tenure at IBM, he served in several leadership capacities. Before his role in IBM WebFountain™, Carlson led the global team providing services to one of the top five global pharmaceutical companies and during this period worked closely with the new IBM Life Sciences group to develop and deliver groundbreaking, first-of-a-kind solutions to the marketplace. He began working for IBM as a part of IBM Public Sector, after IBM acquired The MAGIC Group -a company founded by Carlson - in 1995. In this role, he grew annual global solution revenue from $200 million to over $800 million and evaluated over 50 potential partners, creating numerous relationships to integrate their technologies into a comprehensive solution capability. As founder and CEO of The MAGIC Group, he explored early Internet and HTML technologies, becoming an IBM business partner and helping IBM close a number of multi-million dollar service projects. Carlson started his career at Andersen Consulting, where he held positions in business transformation and management consulting. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Davis.
